If you keep your fitness level while you are pregnant, you won't gain as much "bad" weight, and lose your weight quicker after pregnancy!
So, I know the burning questions now is, "how do I stay fit while I'm pregnant, and not gain so much weight?" This isn't as hard as it sounds, and in fact if you do these few tips, you will be a fit and happy mom, before, during, and after pregnancy. So, lets dive into some ways to keep fit while pregnant shall we?
Exercise, Exercise, Exercise
I know this probably sounds incredibly redundant, but, its true. You need to exercise 3 to 4 days a week while you are pregnant. Not only will it help you stay fit, but it will help your baby! When you get your body going, your baby gets going. Its a win win!
Now, when you do start working out while you are pregnant it is important not lot lift as heavy, or do as strenuous activities as before. It is ok to lift weights, but as you progress, just check with your doctor. Also, maintaining your flexibility is very important, that's why I strongly recommend getting involved in yoga. This will help you lose stress, become more flexible, and improve your overall mood.
It is important to still do cardio and resistance training together up until the last month and 1/2. The more you exercise and eat healthy, the easier it is to lose your baby weight! So, even though you might not feel like it, try to work out and keep fit, this will help to keep weight off, and not have to work as hard after you give birth.
Nutrition Is Key
If you have ever read any of my other articles or blog posts, you can see I have a theme. Exercise and nutrition. That is the magic bullet to losing baby weight! Now, this is going to be very tough, especially as you start to crave things, but for the most part try, try, try to eat healthy.
The better you eat, the less fat you put on, and the easier it will be to lose your baby weight fast! Keeping fit while pregnant isn't easy, but it is worth the effort! Something to think about, is if you develop a healthy eating habit now, you won't have such a change after you give birth, and try to lose your pregnancy weight.
Also, it will help your baby to come into a healthy world. With all the child obesity problems going around, they need a lot of help! If you start this lifestyle before they come you, and your family will be fit and healthy. This means you will get sick less, and about a million more things!
